Julie is an Assistant Manager at Staveley House and has worked in health and social care since 2000. She began her career in an EMI nursing home as a care assistant, where she developed a strong foundation in supporting individuals living with complex needs.
Over the years, she has gained extensive experience across domiciliary care, supported living, and mental health services. She progressed into a Senior Care role and went on to establish herself as a domiciliary manager, coordinating care staff to deliver support within the community.
Following this, she worked as a Quality Monitoring Officer within a domiciliary setting, ensuring high standards of care and compliance were consistently maintained. She later joined the Abbeyfield Society in Milnthorpe as a Senior Care Assistant, where she further developed her leadership skills within a residential home environment.
After taking some time away from the sector for family reasons, she returned to health and social care as an Assistant Manager in a residential home, continuing her passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
Julie was widowed in 2022 after 22 years of marriage. She is a proud mother of three grown-up children and a devoted grandmother to five grandchildren—three boys and two girls—with whom she enjoys spending time.
At home, her dog Pepper keeps her busy. In her spare time, she enjoys long walks and has climbed several mountains with her partner. She values her friendships deeply and treasures time spent with family and friends. She is passionate about supporting residents to live their best lives when they need additional support.
Julie takes great pride in working alongside her team to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered. Although the role can be challenging and demanding, she finds it incredibly rewarding and would not choose any other career.

Sian is one of the Assistant Managers at Staveley House and has worked in health and social care for 17 years. Caring for people has always been close to her heart.
Over the years, she has gained experience in residential care, home care, and as a Registered Nurse at Furness General Hospital. These roles have taught her the importance of compassion, patience, and understanding when supporting people and their families.
For Sian, care goes beyond simply meeting needs — it is about building relationships, listening to people’s stories, and ensuring everyone feels respected, comfortable, and truly at home. She believes every resident deserves to feel valued, safe, and treated with kindness every single day.
As Assistant Manager, Sian supports both residents and the staff team. She works closely with the team to facilitate resident focused care, while also promoting staff development and maintaining a positive, supportive environment within the home. She is always happy to speak with residents and families, listen to any concerns, and help ensure everyone feels supported and involved in their loved one’s care.
Sian takes pride in being part of the team at Staveley House and in contributing to a warm, supportive environment for both residents and the families who trust the home with their loved ones.
Outside of work, Sian lives in Barrow with her very spoilt cat, Hattie. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on holiday, and exploring the culture and history of different countries while making new memories.
