Elizabeth is the Finance & Business Development Manager at Staveley House. Elizabeth has worked in finance all her working life, starting out as an accountancy assistant at a local accounting practice before progressing to the position of Finance Manager in a variety of business, in all different industries over the last 20 years.
Staveley House is the first Care home she has been involved in, and her role involves everything non care related that businesses have to deal with along with shepherding the home’s resources to ensure Staveley House stands strong for years to come.
Elizabeth says:
“Coming to work at Staveley House was a breath of fresh air after working in profit driven industry for so long. The house and staff were immediately welcoming, and I love the focus placed on the individual residents and their needs, making it a joy to work alongside staff and Trustees whose dedication to their work and the residents shines out in every interaction. I have very much enjoyed the privilege of helping to make someone’s last years a wonderful experience.
I believe in giving back to the community and take part in other volunteer work in the local area. I feel I am part of something great at Staveley House, a community that battles loneliness and understands that life does not end as you get older.”
Elizabeth is from the local area and now lives in Ulverston with her DIY enthusiast husband, two grown sons and her cat, Oreo. She likes tea, chocolate biscuits and urban fantasy novels. (Jaffa cakes most of all, in case anyone was wondering).

Harrison came to Staveley House on a Business Administration Apprenticeship through GEN2 in December 2023, 2 weeks after turning 19, having previously worked in a bar and in construction.
As the Administrator at Staveley House, Harrison’s role is to manage the day-to-day administration of the home. This includes supporting residents, families, and staff with enquiries, helping the management team with paperwork and organisation, and ensuring that records and office tasks are kept up to date so the home can run smoothly.
Harrison lives in Barrow-In-Furness at home with parents Gill and Mansel as well as his 2 sisters.
Harrison says:
“Originally born in Blackpool, my family moved back to Barrow when I was 4 years old.”
“When I came for my interview, I was not aware of what I was interviewing for as GEN2 had only told me the location, since then I have learned a lot of new skills and met a lot of great people. It is always interesting speaking to the residents and hearing about their past and the adventures they have been on.”
“Outside of work I enjoy my holidays with mates, watching mine and my dad’s team Leeds United and going to the games as often as I can. I also enjoy going to Aintree Races every year.”
